WHY SHOULD WE GO ON A MUDDY SHOE TEAM ADVENTURE?

There are many companies out there offering you standard consulting services—and they'll deliver standard results. You'll experience short-term gains, but then—usually within a month, if not sooner—everything will revert back to the same problem state you had before. And so the reality is that nothing has changed.

HOW MANY PEOPLE FROM MY TEAM CAN ATTEND?

Group sizes can range from 6 up to 25+ people. The most common size for a group is somewhere in the 12—15 person range, but again, we are comfortable working with any-sized group.

 

WHERE DO YOU RUN YOUR TEAM ADVENTURES?

We can run our Adventure programs anywhere in the world! We will work with you through the initial consultation process to get a better handle on your goals, desired program length, budget, etc. From there, we will offer you a menu of programs and destinations that can range from a 1-day kayaking trip in the Channel Islands to a 9-day dogsledding expedition in Norway. 

 

HOW LONG DOES A MSA TEAM ADVENTURE PROGRAM LAST?

MSA Team Adventures can range from a 1-day team building activity to a 9+ day expedition. Whenever possible, we suggest that the program lasts at least 4-days/3-nights so that your group has a real opportunity to immerse themselves in the experience and has ample time to refresh, recreate, reconnect, reflect, and reinvigorate. 

 

DO YOU HAVE A SAMPLE OF An MSA TEAM ADVENTURE?

A typical 4-day / 3-night MSA Team Adventure program might look something like this:

  • Day 1: Arrive @ your destination; Group introductions & Goal Setting; Welcome Dinner
  • Day 2: Adventure Activity with MSA-led debrief before Dinner
  • Day 3: Morning Adventure Activity followed by an afternoon MSA Working Session
  • Day 4: Morning MSA Working Session; depart after Lunch

WHAT IS THE PRE-PROGRAM CONSULTING SESSION LIKE?

The short answer is: It depends. Whenever possible, we prefer to come onsite to have our pre-program consultation. These meetings generally last 1—2 hours and are designed to give us a better feel for your goals and objectives of the program. We will discuss program length, desired destinations, adventure activities, and more. Armed with this information, the MSA Team will create several program options for you to review that combine your goals with specific destinations and adventure activities that we believe will give your team the most powerful and transformational experience! Together, we'll select the ideal program for your group and goals.

For an additional cost, we are happy to work with you on an extended pre-program consulting process that can include assessments such as a 360-Degree Feedback Process, interviews with the employees or the Executive Team, and more. The more information we have, the better we are able to develop a transformational program for your group!

 

WHAT'S THE TIMELINE FROM PRE-PROGRAM CONSULT TO ADVENTURE?

This can vary wildly depending on the length, location, and activity types of the adventure. A simple one-day team building adventure can be run within weeks of the Pre-Program Consultation; an extended, 5-day rafting adventure that includes a more in-depth pre-program diagnostic could take months to plan and prepare for. Seasonal considerations, budget cycles, and preparation time are also variables that factor in to the equation. Generally speaking, however, we understand that you've come to us with an opportunity or challenge that needs to be addressed promptly, so we'll work with you to make sure your Team Adventure happens as soon as possible!

 

WHAT KINDS OF ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES ARE WE GOING TO DO?

MSA Team Adventure activities can range from walking in nature and canoeing around a lake to hiking in the Swiss Alps or whitewater rafting class III-IV rapids in Oregon. We select the adventure activities based on the goals and desired outcomes of your group. Of course, if you have very specific activities in mind, we are happy to work with those, too. 

 

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PROGRAM IS OVER?

As a part of your program package, your MSA Program Leaders will work with you post-program to ensure the integration of the learnings and the application of action plans developed on the adventure program. The usual MSA Team Adventure package includes 1 post-program session. This can be done on-site or over the phone. Additional post-program options are available for your group as well, including:

  • Executive Coaching
  • Leadership Development Programs
  • On-Going Consulting Services
  • Personal & Professional Development Coaching

 

WHAT IF SOME PEOPLE HAVE PHYSICAL RESTRICTIONS?

We will work with you and your group to find activities that meet everyone's physical ability levels. For example, water-based sports tend to be great for folks with mobility issues. Whatever challenges your team may be facing, we'll work with you to make sure they are an integral part of this experience and that they have fun doing it!

 

HOW MUCH DOES A MSA TEAM ADVENTURE COST?

There are so many factors that go into the program investment for a MSA Team Adventure that it's almost impossible to give a firm response. General factors that are considered include:

  • Length of the Program
  • Destination / Location
  • Size of Your Group
  • Type of Adventure Activities
  • Number of MSA Program Leaders

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE COST OF THE ADVENTURE?

We include as much as we can in our program pricing so that you don't have to worry about paying 10 different vendors. A typical MSA Team Adventure includes:

  • Accommodations [if applicable]
  • All Food & Beverages [alcohol may or may not be included]
  • Any Ground Transportation [ex: To/from the airport; from lodging to adventure site]
  • All Adventure Activities [ex: Rafting, Guided Hiking, Kayaking, etc.]
  • All MSA-led Development Activities [ex: Group discussions, workshops, etc.]

We do not typically include airfare or ground transportation to the adventure location. 

 

DOES MSA RUN THE ADVENTURE PART OF THE PROGRAM?

We do not—MSA's expertise is designing and delivering high-powered organizational development programs. Our team works hand-in-hand with some of the top adventure operators and destinations on the planet to ensure that every Muddy Shoe Team Adventure is handcrafted to meet your goals by utilizing the unique elements of each destination, including the physical environment, local culture and history, and available adventure activities.
